This campground is all about nature. There are no powered sites but there is a well equipped camp kitchen with gas cooking facilities and hot showers.
Huon Bush Retreats is located in Tasmania's Huon Valley, 50 km from Hobart. Situated within an extensive habitat reserve, this nature retreat has a range of self contained cabins and campsites to suite singles, couples, families or groups. Conferences, ceremonies and other events also catered for in a natural environment. Bush walks on-site. The Retreat features solar-power and composting toilets. Some cabins and amenities have wheelchair access.
A multi award winning, carbon neutral (green globe light accredited) retreat. Privacy is protected by 4km winding gravel road with a steep 500-meter section.
Huon Bush Retreats is central to all the attractions of the Huon Valley just 50 minutes drive from Hobart. The Huon Valley is home to cool-climate vineyards and is famous for it’s apple-growing heritage. Discover high quality local produce with an innovative and seasonal Huon Food Trail itinerary. Visit local art galleries on the Huon Trail and enjoy a lazy two-course lunch at Home Hill winery. Breakfast hampers are available by prior arrangement.
Campground:
Each tent and campervan site is in its own individual forest setting. Choose between the convenience of car accessible sites or the privacy of walk in sites. This campground is all about nature. There are no powered sites but there is a well equipped camp kitchen with gas cooking facilities and hot showers.

Self Contained studio and 2 bedroom Cabins:
Each cabin is comfortably catered for with gas cooking facilities, fresh rainwater, solar powered lights, an eco-friendly composting toilet, a cosy wood heater and a private outdoor bath. Electricity is 12-volt solar power: phones and cameras can be charged at reception. A c.d. player and radio is provided, accommodation is TV. free. Relax by the fire with a glass of local wine or take in the view from the deck surrounded by native birds and wildlife. With easy access to 5km of interpreted walking tracks through rainforest, to a hidden waterfall or a mountaintop, you will not miss internet or television here.
Deluxe Tipees:
Each tipee is in its own private nook in the surrounding forest with a private deck, outdoor seating, a comfortable queen bed that folds away into a sofa, and a cosy wood-heater. It is 1 minute walk to the shared facilities including a large undercover kitchen area with gas cooking (stovetop, grill, oven, bbq, cooking and eating utensils) and an outdoor fire, also, a modern shower block with instant gas hot water and eco-friendly composting toilets. A large, outdoor bath tucked into the forest nearby is available on a booking system. Tipees have 12-volt solar powered lights and a cd player, towels and linen are included.
